Keeping gambling fun

Here are eight handy tips to keep games of chance a form of entertainment:

  • Decide in advance how much money you will gamble
  • Make sure this amount fits your budget
  • Stop playing...
    • When you have spent this amount
    • When you are no longer having fun
    • When you are no longer having fun
  • Plan your gambling activities so you do not go impulsively
  • Play for fun, and never chase your losses. Take regular timeouts and ask yourself whether you are really having fun
  • Never gamble to solve a financial problem
  • Remember that these games are determined by chance, and there is no way to predict the results or control the outcome. You can never get better at them. There is no strategy
  • If you win, spend your winnings on another source of entertainment other than gambling

Remember—these tips are for people who do not have gambling problems. The only solution for people with gambling problems is to stop altogether.
