The immediate suicide risk is an assessment of the probability that someone who is suicidal will commit suicide within the next 48 hours. It is a short term probability.
 
Immediate suicide risk can vary widely, even during a single call. Assessing the risk is important, since it determines the initial intervention required. It is essential to accurately assess and clarify the situation by asking the following questions: Where? When? How? With what?
